Our History
The beginning
The Moschini family was first established in Patagonia at the begining of the twentieth century. The grandparents of our co-founder, Ángel Moschini, left their home in Macerata, Italy, to take part in the development of what would later become the city of Villa Regina.
Our ancestors arrived here around 1920.
Today the whole area is cultivated or urbanized
Decades later, the family of our co-founder, who was still a child, settled in a small parcel in the rural area of that same town, by that time named Ingeniero Luis A. Huergo. In the first years of the 20th century, Huergo, a very renowned civil engineer, along with Humberto Canale, were the founders of the first winery in the region, still existing today.
The family arrived to the region by train, but there was not yet a station in place. That´s why they had to get off at the “Kilómetro 1120”, the 1120th kilometer of the “Ferrocarril del Sud”, the southern railway. There was a small village there, not officially named yet. People called it “el pueblo del 20”, the town of the 20”, or “Kilómetro 1120”. Our brand and the image in our bottle is an homage to the history of our ancestors.
The building depicted in the label of our wines Km 1120 is the old train station of Ingeniero Huergo.

Angel Moschini and Teresa Precoma in 1982
Ángel Moschini was raised in that Little town, where he dedicated himself to agriculture at a very early age. In 1981 he married Teresa Precoma, co-founder of our winery, and together they began growing pears and apples at the same 24 acres estate where our winery is located today. Ángel and Teresa still live together in the same house they built after their marriage married.
In 2000, at a newly acquired property half a mile away- they planted a 15 acres vineyard. Since the year 2009 we make our wines with the grapes from that vineyard.
